Just a quick update to say that this is the largest plant I have ever grown. Two of the tomato plants are over 8 feet tall and I have them all supported with a series of wires and pipe cleaners. As I said, absolute monsters.
Monsters. Absolute monsters. I have 4 larger than life tomato plants and I’m so excited to eat them all. We ate our first tomato last night!
The tomatoes – especially the ones in the most sunny spot – are growing so quickly. I have quite a few flowers already!
I transplanted these guys into the backyard plot; fertilized as well. They’re doing great and are nice and leafy. I planted some alliums and Marigolds to help fend off buggies, as my last tomato adventure ended in defeat by aphids.
I can’t for the life of me remember when I planted these seeds, but I grew so impatient with the lack of germination that I started germinating a few more a few days ago. And today the first bunch sprouted. Guess they just needed a bit of pressure.
Note to future Cindy: this blog is for remembering when you did things, so you should probably make a note when you germinate new seeds.
So like, I KNOW a tomato is a fruit. Don’t @ me.
