Atomic Red Carrot

While these have taken longer to grow than the Nantes, they’ve definitely been longer, while the Nantes have had a larger girth. They’re a nice color and a fun addition to my usual carrot rotation. The last of them have been picked but I’d definitely plant them again.

Thinned to 1″ apart; sowed more seeds in between sprouted seedlings.

The Atomic Reds have sprouted! I’ve tried to get my hands on some red carrots through our CSA, but they keep running out. So we’re going to grow our own and see how they taste.

These took a little less than 3 weeks to sprout. Hopefully they’ll be relatively happy in our clay soil.
