Genovese Basil

So, after a couple close brushed with death, I have in fact kept this little basil alive! And I’ve even eaten some once in awhile! He’s been moved to a spot on the north side of the deck that he seems to like better.

All of the basil I’ve ever tried to grow just hasn’t made it. Granted, I’ve tried to grow them mostly in dingy apartments with little light on the East coast. Maybe we’ll have better luck in good old zone 9?

I’ve learned a bit.

Plenty of sun (can you have too much?).
Plenty of water. Maybe even every day.
Pinch off any flower buds.
It will die after two years.
